Colt Tryouts

Please find the attached San Carlos Colt Signup and Tryout Information for the 2015 Colt Season.

Tryouts will be:

Location:       Burton Park, Flanagan Field
Dates:           Sunday April 19th & Sunday April 26th
Time:             9-11am

The league will start in May and be completed in first part of July.

For those players interested in signing up, please bring the registration information and league fee to the tryouts.

We are currently planning on two teams depending on the number of registered players and coaches.

If you know of any other age appropriate players interested in playing Colt this year, please forward this information on.

2014 San Carlos Colt Registration and Tryouts

Location:   Flanigan Field, Burton Park

Date:         Sunday, April 13th

Time:        9-11am

San Carlos Colt Baseball is open to all San Carlos and Redwood City residents ages 15 & 16.  Depending on the number of interested players and available spots, there may be cuts.

The league will start after the high school season ends...usually in the middle of May and running until the end of July.

The Registration Fee for 2014 is $275

In the event it is not raining on the day of tryouts and Burton is closed for standing water, we may move the tryouts to Highlands depending on field availability.

Tryout Information

Please arrive 20 minutes early in order to dress and warm-up properly.

If the tryouts are rained out, it will be me made up the following Saturday, 2/15/14, at the same times and location.

San Carlos Pony Baseball is open to all San Carlos Residents ages 13 and 14.  We expect to have more participants tryout that we have available space for…so cuts will be made this year.  A draft will be held and the top 60-72 players will be chosen by the coaches. 

The registration fee for 2014 is $250.  Those not selected to play after the tryouts will receive a complete refund.

Late Registration

If you missed the Pony Baseball Sign-ups in early December, you can still register your child by printing out the following form and mailing it, with a check to our registrar no later than January 10, 2013.  We will do our best to get all late registrants assigned to teams.

2012 Timmy Volkert Award Winner

Every year San Carlos Pony Baseball Coaches and Managers select a player to receive this honor.  The award is named after Timmy Volkert, a former Pony and Colt Player who tragically passed away at the age of 15 in 2003.  Timmy was great young man...someone you would be proud to have your son grow up like.  Please read our special page on Timmy here and learn more about him and how he lived.

I would like to congratulate Jonathan Kelly, Ike Seneca and Steven Palthe for being nominated this year.  All the coaches spoke very highly of each of you and you should be very proud to be nominated.

I am pleased to announce this years winner is Jonathan Kelly.  All the coaches spoke of your leadership and sportsmanship.  Timmy would have been proud to call you his teammate.  You are a wonderful young man and have represented yourself, your family and San Carlos Pony Baseball with honor.

Seals are 2012 Champions of San Carlos

Congratulations to the Seals for winning our 2012 San Carlos Pony Baseball Championship.  The Seals came out of the losers bracket having to beat the regular season champion Padres twice to claim the title.  Both games were amazingly exciting with the Seals winning 5-3 in the first game of the day and 8-7 in second.

The Seals are managed by Mike Turner and coached by Anthony Bertolocci.  They, along with the Padres and Stars begin play in the Peninsula Pony Playoffs tonight.  Good luck boys!!!

Peninsula Pony Playoffs

Congratulations to the San Carlos Padres for winning the Peninsula Pony Baseball Regular Season Championship. 

Joining them in the Peninsula Pony Baseball Playoff are the San Carlos Stars who finished second and the San Carlos Seals who finished 5th.
